He has 10 years of experience in different hospital settings in community and academic institutions throughout his hospitalist career, which involved teaching residents and medical students. He has also served in various outpatient clinical setting that focus on men’s and women’s health including bioidentical hormone replacement, Gains wave and preventive medicine.

He was introduced to Integrative and Functional Medicine when he became a patient himself. He has always been physically active most of his life, working out and lifting weights. One day, he noticed his energy declining and he continued to be tired consistently. He ran some blood tests that came back normal. He knew there was something wrong. Eventually, his friend referred him to an Integrative and Functional medicine practitioner. He found out that he had hormonal imbalance and heavy metal toxicity. With a functional medicine approach, he was able to get rid of the toxicity, detoxify, and started bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Regaining his energy and happy with the results, he soon got interested and devoted his time in learning Integrative alternative approach and applied the principles to his patients.

Over the years, he realized that conventional medicine has many limitations, especially in treating chronic conditions like cancer. He saw the devastating effects of chemotherapy and radiation in the quality of life of his patients. With several of his family members afflicted with this dreaded disease, he decided to focus his interest in cancer. His open mindedness and willingness to learn led him to travel to several countries mostly in Europe, exploring alternative treatments, speaking directly to cancer researchers, scientists, and learning from Integrative Oncologists how to treat cancer with the whole person approach. Dr. Acebedo began working alongside Leigh Erin Connealy, MD at Cancer Center For Healing located in Irvine, California. He is dedicated to cancer care, disease prevention, cancer prevention, disease resolution, and wellness lifestyle through homeopathic, integrative and functional approach founded in science. (He combines the best of all sciences to determine the origin of the illness first, and then focuses on the disease of the patient).

He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine, Institute for Functional Medicine and Age Management Medicine.

In his spare time, he is involved in various fitness pursuits with his wife including martial arts, considers himself a “gym rat”. He lives a healthy lifestyle and is active in his church. His favorite quote is “God never created us to reach one level and then stop. When you stop learning you stop growing.”
